SUMMARY:Conflict management and contracts for visual artists
DESCRIPTION:Indian Dispute Resolution Services\, with its partners the US Patent and Trademark Office and the Indian Arts and Crafts Board\, will be presenting its monthly webinar to help artists and craftspeople utilize E-commerce in their businesses. This webinar will focus on all things that you hate (but are necessary) when you run a business…conflict and contracts. Please join us if you can! \nOne of the more challenging aspects of running a business involves handling problems with employees and contractors\, suppliers\, and customers. This session will explore how to handle these problems informally\, while maintaining your relationships\, avoiding escalation\, and getting Win-Win agreements. We also will cover mediation\, a type of alternative dispute resolution\, and how and when to use it.  \nContracts also are helpful in avoiding problems and this session will explore the elements of a well-written artist contract. We also will explore the types of contracts that visual arts typically encounter including agreements for commissions\, exhibitions and galleries\, consignment and sales.
