SUMMARY:Financing Readiness 1: Borrowing money from traditional lenders & the FSA
DESCRIPTION:This course is designed to build off of our “Understanding Debt + Equity” and help you take the next step towards debt readiness. What do traditional bank lenders and the USDA’s Farm Service Agency (FSA) want from you? What do you need to do to prepare yourself for conversations\, applications\, negotiations ? What’s up with business plans and financial records\, what do you actually need and what don’t you need? We talk to the experts at the Center for Farm Financial Management\, and the Administrator of the FSA himself to help you chart a course through perceived complications\, hurdles\, and surprising opportunities from these traditional outfits. We will visit with producers who have gone through the debt process themselves and learn from their experiences.
