DESCRIPTION:The Oklahoma SBDC is partnering with The Oklahoma Department of Labor to help businesses gain a deeper awareness of the laws addressing “Workplace Safety and Wages in Oklahoma”. This information packed event will feature multiple speakers specializing in their areas of expertise\, providing attendees with a clear understanding of the following topics: \n* The OSHA consultation process and how companies can request this free service. \n* Understanding the differences between Oklahoma Wage Law and the U.S. Fair labor Standards Act. \n* The federal and state youth employment laws\, work permit process\, and young worker safety. \nSpeaker(s): Oklahoma Department of Labor David Bryan- Employment Standards Division Director Jason Hudson – OSHA Director Lester Claravall – Child Labor Officer \nReasonable accommodations for persons with disabilities will be made if requested at least two weeks in advance. Language assistance services are available for limited English proficient individuals with appropriate advance notice.
