DESCRIPTION:Market research is essential for small businesses that wish to stay competitive.  Brush up on your secondary research skills and discover the wealth of free information available through your public library and other resources. \nWe will explore online sources and other easily accessible databases full of data that can help your business make knowledgeable decisions.  These resources will help you understand and define the market for your product or service\, find your competition\, explore demographics\, find industry benchmarks\, and keep up on industry news. \nThis series will run on 5 Tuesdays and the agenda is as follows: \nSeptember 17\nUtilize Reference USA to gather information about your customers and competitors \nSeptember 24\nCollect demographic information for your market area through American Fact Finder\nGet information about your industry throught First Research \nOctober 1\nCalculate market share \nOctober 8 \nUse Demographics Now to understand consumer spending habits and psycho-graphics of your target market \nOctober 15 \nMap customer data by creating custom Google Maps \nThe cost is $50 for the entire series\, or $15 per session and this includes lunch.  Attendees are encouraged to register online. \nPresenter: Lynn Wilson \nPartners:  IDRS\, ACORN Project\, Northeast Technology Center\, Cherokee Nation\, and REI Women’s Business Center. \nFunded in part through a cooperative agreement with the U.S. Small Business Administration.
