DESCRIPTION:This workshop will explain the purposes and benefits of business planning and introduce a variety of approaches that can be customized to any business.  It will address the basics of financial forecasting\, why businesses fail\, and the importance of flexibility. \nThis session will be facilitated by Alan Steele\, Regional Director of the North Central Indiana Small Business Development Center in Bend\, IN.  Alan has served in this position since 2014. He joined the organization as a Business Advisor in 2008 after holding senior level business development and general management positions within both manufacturing and service focused businesses. Alan has advised more than 1\,500 entrepreneurs since joining the Indiana SBDC and was named the network’s State Star in 2015. He is a graduate of the Judd Leighton School of Business and Economics at Indiana University South Bend and was named the school’s Alumnus of the Year in 2017.
